The Neighborhood Preservation Program is responsible for all the vacant and abandon properties in the township of Irvington. The NPP program maintains an inventory of all township properties through Parcel Views. The NPP program is also responsible for the Vacant Property Registration all vacant properties must be registered with the NPP (attach ordinance in the form of a link). The initial registration fee is $350.00 and is an escalating fee structure, registration is due every July 1, of the calendar year. The Department also maintains the official record of foreclosures that come into the Township of Irvington.
The township has approximately 1700 vacant properties with over 600 registered by banks and Property Preservation companies. The ultimate goal of the NPP program is to preserve neighborhoods and beginning turning vacant and abandon structures into productive real estate in the township.
