Location: Township of Irvington-Public Safety
The Irvington Municipal Court is seeking a Deputy Court Administrator (DCA). Under the direction of the Chief Municipal Court Judge, Municipal Court Director and Municipal Court Administrator, the DCA performs quasi-judicial, administrative, supervisory and clerical functions related to the operations of a municipal court. The DCA performs other related duties as required.
Graduation from a High school or equivalent.
One (1) year of experience in work related to the administrative operation of a court, law enforcement agency, law firm, or government agency, including the preparation and/or processing of legal documents. Current certification as a Municipal Court Administrator pursuant to NJSA 2B:12-11 or Accreditation pursuant R.1:41-3(a) may be substituted for the indicated experience and are preferred.
EXAMPLES of Work:
oversight of court operations including court sessions and calendaring, providing quality customer service to litigants and the public responding to inquiries from the public and litigants, drafting correspondence, providing information and guidance to attorneys, defendants and other parties, reviewing, monitoring, updating daily, weekly and monthly management reports supervision of assigned staff, ensure compliance with the New Jersey Rules of Court, Supreme Court Directives, laws and established policies and procedures governing the operation of the Municipal Courts.
All newly appointed deputy municipal court administrators, who are neither certified municipal court administrators pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2B:12-11 et al. nor accredited pursuant to R.1-41-3(a), must obtain conditional accreditation within six (6) months of the date of appointment and must obtain full accreditation within three (3) years of the date of appointment.
Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting. An application fee may apply.
