The Township of Irvington Department of Health and Senior Services is a local health department that has been dedicated to improving the quality of life in Irvington Township since 1692. To accomplish this, the Department offers a comprehensive array of public health prevention, promotion, and protection services and programs serving residents in the Township of Irvington, New Jersey. The Department operates under the mandated, legal framework of the Public Health Standards of Performance for Local Boards of Health in New Jersey (N.J.A.C 8:52) and the New Jersey Department of Health Statute, Codes along with all federal and local ordinances that deal in public health. Under the governing authority of the Mayor and Council of the Township of Irvington, Health Department mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families in Irvington through innovative policies, effective services, and strong community partnerships.
Staff
The staff of the Department of Health and Senior Services includes the Health Director, the Health Officer, public health nurses, public health educators, breast feeding counselors, Registered Environmental Health Inspectors, lead Inspectors and Risk Assessors, Animal Control Officer, Certified Municipal Registrars, volunteers, and other dedicated individuals with a common goal to deliver effective and innovative programs and services that ensure the health and well-being of the Irvington community.
