Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss Announces the Installation of Fire Alarms in Town Hall for First Time in 74 years

Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss announced that wireless fire alarms have finally been installed in Town Hall.

“I am pleased to announce that Town Hall has been made a safer place to work and visit by the installation of fire alarms throughout the building,” said Mayor Vauss. “I don’t understand why the lives of employees and visitors, as well as township property and records, were left unguarded against fire, for so very long. Although fire alarms were not around at the time the building was built in 1941, fire alarm protection has been available for several decades. We can all rest a bit easier now that we have this protection – the same protection we expect and urge our residents and businesses to have installed on their property.”
