Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss Issues an Executive Order Suspending Street Cleaning and Reminding Property Owners and Tenants to Clear Sidewalks

Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss issued an Executive Order suspending street cleaning when the township experiences a snowfall of 3 or more inches. Street cleaning will resume after the snow is removed. In addition, property owners and tenants are reminded that they are required to clear their sidewalks and any property abutting the streets, within 24 hours after a snowfall stops.

“We have experienced several snowfalls and icy days,” said Mayor Vauss. “It is not possible to clean the streets when they are snow covered, so I am suspending the cleaning until the snow is removed. It is important for all of us to do our part during this wintry weather so residents are reminded that they have a legal responsibility to clear their sidewalks within 24 hours after a snowfall ends.”
