Mayor Tony Vauss Announces Free Health Screenings Rescheduled from June 25th to July 9th and 30th

Mayor Tony Vauss announced there will be free health screenings and tests for Irvington residents on Thursday, July 9 and 30, 2015, from 11:00am to 2:00pm. The screenings will be sponsored by S.T.O.P. UMNDJ and will take place outside of the Irvington Municipal Building located at 1 Civic Square in Irvington. The original date for the screenings was June 25th but due to unexpected required maintenance of the Rutgers STOP bus, the 25th date is cancelled.

The screenings will include testing for: diabetes; high blood pressure; HIV; and, gynecological/HPV. Breast examinations, rapid pregnancy tests, and testing for sexually transmitted diseases (STD), will be available.

These services are part of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign. “This is part of my mission to improve the quality of life for the residents of Irvington,” said Mayor Vauss. “My administration, through the Department of Health and in collaboration with other health and non-health service providers, will continue to work to provide residents access to good health care services.”
