Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss Announces another One Hits the Dust as a Second Vacant Property is Taken Down

Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss announced that the second of 19 properties was demolished today.  The property is located at 89 22nd Street, Irvington.

“This is the second building I have taken down in less than a month,” said Mayor Vauss. “We are moving forward to demolish the other 17 as quickly as possible.  By taking these dilapidated buildings down, we are preparing our neighborhoods for development and new housing. It also makes the block a bit better for the people who live there.”

Ted Green, Director of Housing and Buildings, indicated, “We should have all of the 19 properties down by January 2015.  We are following the Mayor’s orders to make Irvington clean and safe.  With each building that comes down, we are moving closer to that goal. ”
