Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss Pleased to Announce Essex County Awards Grant to Irvington’s Neighborhood Improvement Corporation (INIC)

Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss is pleased to announce that Irvington’s Neighborhood Improvement Corporation (INIC) received a grant from Essex County for more than $62,000. These monies are part of the Community Services Block Grant program.

“I am pleased to announce, once again, that the tide has turned for Irvington,” said Mayor Vauss. “When I became the mayor, INIC was losing funding from several grantors,. Now, under the leadership of INIC Executive Director Deborah Simpkins, Irvington is receiving funds to serve our people.”

INIC Executive Director Simpkins indicated, “The $62,037. received from the County of Essex will enable us to provide services to more of our Irvington and Essex County residents. These CSBG funds will be used to provide intake, case management, food packages, feeding and referral services to residents in need.”
