Mayor Tony Vauss led the Township’s celebration of Veteran’s Day in November 11th. The celebration took place at the Servicemen’s Clubhouse. Mayor Vauss was joined by members of the VFW Camptown Post 1941, the Volunteer Veterans of New Jersey, and members of the public and administration. The Irvington High School JROTC participated in the ceremony.

“Not only should we honor our veterans on this day, but rather all days of the year.” said Mayor Vauss. “We thank these men and

women for the sacrifices they made for all of us to live free. We must commit ourselves to make sure that our veterans are taken care of upon their return from war and service.”

The program was coordinated by the director of the Recreation Department, Donald Malloy. “It was a moving ceremony that exhibited the respect and appreciation we have for our veterans,” said Director Malloy. “This is a small way in which we say ‘thank you’ ”.
