Irvington will hold a Graduation and Promotion Ceremony for Police and Fire on Monday, May 18th at 3:00pm

Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss announced that there will be a graduation and promotion ceremony held in Irvington 971 Clinton Avenue, Monday, May 18 at 3:00pm. The press is invited to attend and encouraged to cover this event.

There will be eight (8) promotions among both departments.

Fire: Captain Michael Thomas and Captain Antonio Gary will be promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief; Lieutenants Kaimu Suggs and Miguel Lima will be promoted to Fire Captains.

Police: Sergeants Jerry Alston, Elijah James, Jr., Franciszek Piwowarczyk, and Raymond Hoffman, will be promoted to Police Lieutenants.

Ten (10) firefighters (including the first woman since the 1970’s) will be sworn in. They include: William Huss, Jr., Jacob Mealy, Bashir Pearson, Darrin Zignoli Jr., Cynthia Cargua, Jerrez Hayward, Samuel Addo, Quintin Ponder, Deon Bascom, and Corey Baker.
