Irvington’s Late Freeholder and Councilman Bilal Beasley to be Honored by Essex County

Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss announced that the County of Essex will be unveiling a plaque dedicated to the service provided by the late Freeholder Bilal Beasley who passed away in late 2014. The dedication will take place on Wednesday, May 20th, at noon at the Essex County Veteran’s Courthouse, Governor Brendan Byrne Plaza (formerly 13th Avenue), Newark, NJ. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held in the first floor lobby of the Hall of Records.

“Freeholder Beasley served the township of Irvington at the county level as a freeholder. He also represented the residents as a councilman,” said Mayor Vauss. “He was a true public servant who worked long and hard for Irvington. He is missed badly by many of us. I am pleased Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo is bestowing this honor on one of Irvington’s finest. The Township will also memorialize Bilal Beasley’s contributions, in the near future.”
