Mayor Tony Vauss of Irvington Announces the Township has been Award ed $650,500 to Expand Recreational Opportunities

On the anniversary of his first year in office, Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss announced that the State of New Jersey, through the Department of Environmental Protection and the Garden State Preservation Trust have approved Irvington’s application for a Green Acres loan of $325,250 and a matching grant of $325,250.

“I am very pleased that the State recognizes that Irvington is on the move and is willing to invest in our people and parks,” said Mayor Vauss. “It is important that our residents have open space to enjoy recreational and relaxing activities. This is indeed an excellent way to celebrate the end of my first year in office and beginning of my second.”

These funds will enable the Township to expand its recreational opportunities and preserve its parks.
